This is one review in Film Misery’s mini-marathon of the films. Crossing the Line is a serious exploration of a mindset I’ve never really considered. I’ve read numerous accounts by defectors from North Korea—I highly recommend those contained in Kang Chol-Hwan’s The Aquariums of Pyongyang and Barbara Demick’s Nothing to Envy, as well as this New York Times article.Crossing the Line is a documentary that follows 4 western defectors who lived in communists North Korea. All of these men, to my surprise had entered into North Korea willingly and were not captured or necessarily prisoners of war.Crossing The Line lacks the force and power of a strong point of view, but like Gordon's other work about North Korea, it succeeds in revealing what it means for individuals to give themselves.

He ostensibly felt very comfortable venturing there, being a member of.Meghan Rogers' CROSSING THE LINE is an absolutely delightful, fun, action-packed book full of spies and assassins and secret agents and shadowing government agencies and double agents, plus a huge number of completely kickass action sequences, and most of all a fabulous main character.
Synopsis. The film is about a former U.S. Army soldier, James J. Dresnok, who defected to North Korea on 15 August 1962. It was directed and produced by British filmmakers Daniel Gordon and Nicholas Bonner, and was shown at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. Crossing the Line, which was narrated by actor Christian Slater.
